Avatar Aang is Gone … It’s Korra’s Time to Shine!
Netflix is finally adding Avatar: Legend of Korra to its arsenal after popular demand! Shortly after releasing its predecessor, Avatar: The Last Airbender, the streaming giant is now adding the sequel series.
All four seasons of Legend of Korra are dropping on August 14th so you still have time to binge ATLA.
The series follows Korra, the new Avatar following Aang’s death. Unlike Aang, Korra comes from the Water Tribe and has a completely opposite personality. She’s tough and fierce, whereas Aang was gentle and kind.
A lot has happened since the days of the original series and the world has made huge advancements in technology. Although the 100 Year War is over, new threats face Korra.
Throughout the four seasons, she must confront dangers the past Avatars never had to face before. She may be tough, but these new threats just might break her. The adult themes in LoK have earned it critical acclaim and the last season was even deemed too risky for air on Nickelodeon.
Legend of Korra runs much shorter than The Last Airbender — each season is roughly twelve episodes — but the stories are very important. In fact, we recently covered why Korra’s journey is more relevant now than ever before.
