Chex Quest HD Takes Us Back To 1996 With Slightly Updated Graphics!
Some of my fondest memories of growing up in the 90s are the hours of playing Chex Quest. Chex Quest was a hilariously random marketing ploy to get children interested in Chex Cereal.
The game came on a CD-Rom included in boxes of Chex Cereal as a prize. The funniest part is that it was basically a clone of the already popular Doom video game. This was pre-internet and as kids who grew up without cable TV, this was the most exciting thing to happen to my brother and I. We’d spend endless amounts of time playing this nonsensical game on our giant 90s PC.
Now, 24 years later, Chex Quest has made its triumphant return with updated graphics and a multiplayer mode! The graphics are still janky and look like they came from the early 200s, but it just adds to the game’s charm. The best part? It’s still free!!
Battle snot-like aliens and robots called ‘flemoids’ in this incredibly bizarre first-person shooter. Use various weapons, spoons, sporks and more to fight them off and … well, I don’t think I ever got to the end.
I can’t pretend to know what the game is about, nor do I think I ever really knew, but I’ll definitely be reliving my childhood with Chex Quest HD. Get it on the Steam Store now!
