Google Is Working on the Next Big Thing
The future is now, people. Google is making sure our everyday life is as close to an episode of Black Mirror as possible … in a good way! This time they’re doing it by way of Augmented Reality, or AR.
The company recently announced they will be rolling out a beta version of their new Maps feature. Google Maps Live View will help users navigate their way around town with the help of the camera on their smartphone. The feature will use AR to display directional arrows on the screen in real-time. Sick, right!?!?

As cool as this sounds, it’s only the first step into what’s possible. Paired with the power of 5G, it’s likely we’ll eventually see projection display navigators while driving or even through wearable tech such as Google Glass, or even Apple’s rumored smart glasses … Just think of the cool stuff you could do with that technology! Google would probably have neat uses for it, but Apple’s smart glasses are sure to look cool as hell.
I predict that we’ll even see the rise of location-based ads & information popping up in real-time. These can be things like gas prices, daily sales or promotions that will display via AR as you pass certain locations. We already see a form of these things being implemented on Waze.
5G capabilities are also coming in the near future so we’re likely to soo many more cool uses for it. Ah, the future. She’s a beautiful thing …
Catch us walkin’ around town Vegeta-status like …
