Edgy Rap-Rock That’ll Have You Wishing You Knew Them Sooner…
A little over 10 years ago The LaFontaines were formed in Motherwell, a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. With frontman Kerr Okan on vocals, Jamie Keenan on drums and Darren McCaughey on guitar, the band set out to create their own style. Kerr delivers bars backed by an edgy rock rhythm to create a satisfying blending of genres. They’ll definitely be added to our summer playlist!

The LaFontaines are what you’d get if you mixed Imagine Dragons with Linkin Park and added a dash of 21 Pilots. All of their styles culminate into a badass sound with a flare of Scottish dialect. In fact, Kerr’s accent adds to the badass feel of their music.
They are influenced by notable artists such as Anderson Paak, who they even toured with in their earlier days. In fact, just this year they toured with Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park!
Their third studio album, ‘Junior’, was released in June and got the band on the charts for the first time. The trio said they never thought they’d crack the Top 40, but just a couple weeks ago sat at #33 overall and #1 in Scotland!
Standout tracks off ‘Junior’ are All In, Alpha and Body. If you want to dig deeper, some older songs off The LaFontaines‘ discography include Release the Hounds, Under the Storm and King.
Catch Them on Tour
Sadly, there are no upcoming U.S. tour dates but you’re in luck if you’re in Europe and the U.K. The upcoming tour starts in September and tickets are on sale now. Word on the street is that their legendary live shows are epic, so get on that!
