Downtown Anaheim’s Paradise for Gamers
LAG Bar in Anaheim is your new favorite spot to game and drink. Short for ‘Libations and Gaming’, this eSports bar is located on the Center Street Promenade in Downtown Anaheim. Just minutes from Disneyland and a distance from the Anaheim Packing District, LAG is neighbors with popular establishments such as Decades Bar & Grill and Requiem Coffee.
Smash Bros. Sunday!
LAG is quickly become the go-to hangout for casual Super Smash Bros. players. They hold extremely fun tournaments every Sunday, dubbed, ‘Smash Sunday’. Don’t let the word “tournament” intimidate you. Participants are just everyday at-home gamers with varying skill levels, so no need to worry about going up against a world champ.
Each match is 1v1 , although they sometimes host doubles matches, and they’re displayed on the bar’s big screens for everyone to view. Don’t get cold feet though — you’ll be having so much fun you won’t even notice! Just remember: LAG is still a bar and people will be drinking so the skill levels are hilariously hindered.
Tournament winners are given prizes that range from gift certificates, toys and also get to claim LAG’s coveted Championship Belt!
Not a Smash player? No problem! LAG offers plenty of other Nintendo Switch games such as Mario Kart and Mario Tennis, Cuphead and many more. Kids are welcome to join and show off their skills as well, and from what we’ve seen, they’re some of the best!
Food & Drink
LAG offers a revolving selection of local craft beers as well as video game-themed cocktails. Their food is phenomenal, with mini garlic corndogs, street tacos, nachos, sliders and more. There’s nothing better than hanging out with friends drinking, eating and gaming!
TVs line the walls with live gameplay as well as Twitch streams, so there’s always something to watch.
Super Smash Bros. tournaments are held every Sunday evening with sign-ups usually starting at 5:30 PM. Currently, each tournament sees about 20-30 people participating, but that number grows along with LAG’s popularity. It’s best to show up early to ensure entry!
