The release date for the PS4 Exclusive Spider-Man game is slowly getting closer and we’re quickly getting more excited. The game will be available on September 7, 2018, and the official story trailer was dropped at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Here’s what we know so far.
The game’s storyline will follow what seems to be a seasoned Peter Parker, who has been Spider-Man long enough to be a known vigilante. As the new trailer suggests, Spider-Man will be hunted down by a group of known villains as well as the mercenary, Silver Sable, who seems to have been hired by a group looking to stop Spider-Man’s vigilantism.
It’s not known whether or not this is a Dark Knight Rises scenario where the police and the general public are also looking to see the web-slinger taken down, or if it’s just some organization.
We also see that Peter has two allies in a young girl and boy (who looks similar to Miles Morales??). They seem to be helping Spider-Man with whatever he is hoping to accomplish in the game’s story.
The big “twist” in the trailer is that we see Spider-Man talking to Norman Osborn….maskless. Does this mean that Norman knows Peter’s secret? Or perhaps Norman isn’t the Green Goblin in this world? Unlikely. Osborn is also said to be the Mayor of New York at this point as well, so there’s that weird twist.

The gameplay looks amazing, to say the least. It’s hard to imagine a modern Spider-Man game when you’ve played the classics from the PS2 era, but with the technology of today, it can’t get any better!
The fluidity of Spider-Man’s movements is quick and beautiful and web-slinging through New York City never looked so fun! The fighting looks like it’s going to be very similar to the Batman Arkham Series, specifically Catwoman’s sleek and agile fighting style in Arkham City.
I assume the web-slinging will be just like when Batman uses his grapple in the game but with more flexibility and movement.
I cannot wait for this game and I do not doubt that it’ll be a classic hit for Playstation. What do you think?
