Well folks, persistence pays off. Who said being annoying doesn’t get you anywhere? Here is your first (good) look at the upcoming Emerson XHD-Commander. This time I was able to get a little bit more information for you all. In the meantime, check out another Emerson Knife we wrote about!

The XHD-Commander uses S35VN Stainless Steel, as noted underneath the thumb opener. It has all satin hardware and an Xtra Heavy Duty backspacer. This could be used for glass breaking and much more!

In person, the backspace looks like it can do a ton of damage all on its own!
The body is held together with hexagonal screws and the lock bar contains an insert that can be replaced without having to swap the entire liner.

The blade is still chisel ground just like all Emerson Knives, but it will still rock that the signature bevel on the backside, giving the illusion of a V-grind.
Emerson is known to keep their run counts secret, but it’s very likely that roughly less than 100 will be released — at least in the initial run!
As for when … it sounds like Emerson is readying themselves for the release VERY SOON. As we’ve mentioned in the past, the previous three Emerson XHD models sold out within minutes. MINUTES!
Sold Out?
If you’re interested in one of these big boys but they’re all gone, don’t worry. Emerson Knives base their runs off of demand. The more something is requested, the more likely they are to bring them back.
The best thing you can do is blow up the comments on their Instagram, YouTube and Twitter about which knife you’d like to see come back. Emerson is very aware at the collector’s value of their knives and like to maintain the interest.
If they do decide to bring a run back, be ready to pay top dollar from Emerson and make sure you are subscribed to their newsletter. Emerson Knives is notorious for doing surprise releases and newsletter subscribers are often the first to hear anything. GOOD LUCK!
If we see them, we’ll be clicking the refresh button on the Emerson Knives website like:
